AAVE: America's Adventure Ventures Everywhere

AAVE provides carefully led, worthwhile and safe adventure travel for teenagers.  Most teens want a summer adventure to match their maturity, energy, ability and to have the most fun possible, while most parents are looking for a safe educational experience that builds character, leadership abilities and for their “young adults” to have an adventure they will never forget. An AAVE adventure exceeds the expectations of both.

Teens are invited to experience personal growth through exploration that AAVE has to offer. AAVE believes that teamwork, friendship and trust are the foundation of character, and that a summer with AAVE will deepen maturity, broaden perspective, enhance leadership abilities. Personal growth is the keystone of the AAVE experience.

History

Abbott Wallis founded America's Adventure in 1976. The original goal was to offer teenagers a hands-on, safe adventure program that teaches the joy of adventure travel. This goal remains the same today. In 1976 Abbott was working as a high school teacher, that summer Abbott led the first trip with nine teens. With each passing summer the number of participants and quality of the programs have grown. AAVE has had a positive impact on the lives of thousands of participants from over 44 states and 30 countries. Over the years, the program offerings have not changed drastically, but what is expected of teens and leaders and the support AAVE provides has grown. In 1995, AAVE began to offer international programs. The international programs are run in partnership with local organizations which offer ground support and leadership with identical AAVE values and standards. AVVE are accredited by the American Camp Association.
