There are plenty of outdoor opportunities ranging from hunting and fishing to hikes, wildlife viewing and canoeing and kayaking. Kentucky State Parks are sponsoring many outdoor events at this time of year. With a total of 52 parks that include 17 resorts, there is a park nearby with trails and other adventure tourism programming. Here is a listing of some adventure tourism events in Kentucky this fall. Hunting
Kentucky’s 2009 white-tailed deer season opened about a month ago for archery hunters, but it gets underway in earnest in October and November when firearms hunters take to the woods. Kentucky’s deer herd is ranked among the nation’s top five. The traditional modern firearms statewide deer hunting season opener is Nov.14 and continues through Nov. 29 through most of the state.
